Is it just me that's reminded of DOMO from the cinematic? Not the game itself, but one of the DOMO cinematics basically had the exact same situation xD Won't be signing up for it though, because I can't be bothered with MMOs any more really =P

Yeah lmao xD Well it even copies Domo ...its got Witch Doc or (GU user as softstar and this game likes to call it) basically every developer realizes how good DoMo was, AKfrost wrote a mini-essay about it quite recently which was hilariously true, that EE and KS were only brought by Aeria because they represented the community's tastes (asian, and multi-class) however both have not reached the success that DoMo has/had, and probably never will, I'll try and find the post

'DOMO's biggest problem is that the developers are not learning from the failure of Chinese Paladin Online and Scar in the Sky Online. They've launched another game that's also bound to fail because of how unoriginal it looked (i'd argue that other than dev support, domo despite its problems is superior to this new game in every way), and that's exactly the issue here. Softstar is actually comparable to blizzard in terms of fame/market share in Taiwan, and they operate on such an assumption. The Xuan Yuan Sword series is a 22 year old franchise that despite all its issues still grips Taiwan's gaming circle on par with Diablo/Elder Scrolls here. This gives them a certain air of pretense that they can **** in a box and people will still buy it. This is why that despite DOMO being their most successful title by far (and the only one living), they're still more interested in creating new titles instead of fixing DOMO. As I have shown many times, the DOMO client alone contains more content than what is currently released. Softstar has coded and modeled maps that were never released here or in Taiwan. With literally around three week's of work, they could potentially double the amount of content domo currently has, yet they don't do it. And from what Superman described here, this can only result in a vicious cycle where people won't play without content and devs won't make content without people playing. That being said, I cannot help but feel that Aeria is not blameless. This problem happened around Q2 2008, when Aeria suddenly increased the acquisition rate. Games began coming in pairs, and soon it was actually becoming a challenge to keep up with the acquisition news without having to specifically go after it. The ranks of the GM team, however, did not grow. In fact, Q2 of 2008 was around when domo had the most GM support, and it was also a missed opportunity for DOMO to really grow big because aeria had neither the content nor the service personnel to keep domo growing. Luckily, DOMO had a GS team that managed to stem the loss of players to an acceptable rate, even though a player exodus seemed likely. What Aeria did, however, was pulling Clementine away from DOMO to managed the failing stone age 2. While I'm not going to comment on chief's performance, the fact that stone age 2 died not soon after betrays what kind of move this was. Clem was pulled from DOMO to rescue SA2 because Aeria deemed chief to be unfit for the job. In other words, aeria sacrificed DOMO's vital performance by trading a more capable product manager for a lss capable one in order to save another game, which shows, indirectly, what aeria's intention with DOMO was. It is not a stretch to say that Aeria never intended for DOMO to join the old Aeria Elite like LC/Shaiya, and perhaps Aeria didn't even expect DOMO to live as long as it did. The x-legend acquisitions as well as lime odyssey all seemed to be projected at making a place for domo players to move to next. While I'm not sure what GFO's significance was, KS and EE both contains parts of DOMO's charm (chinese flavor, multiclassing) that was hyped and compared to DOMO. Lime Odyssey was announced as early as November 2010, around the projected end date for DOMO's original contract, even though it was still not complete today. While I admit freely that I'm being overtly paranoid about this, but both this and the rapid GM movements after clem's departure tells me that Aeria may have given up on DOMO as early as 2009, and had been subtly attempting to get its population to transition to Aeria's more shiny toys instead. Yet, two years later, with GFO in serious decline, KS already dead, EE losing most of its beginner's steam, and LO pulling a Daikatana, DOMO still stands, broken but not destroyed. So my question to Aeria is, what do you plan on doing about it? Are you going to cut to the chase and give us the 60 day rebate offer soon? Or do you actually have any idea on how to at least continue, if not revive DOMO? This is the communication and loyalty issue that's facing DOMO today. We DOMO players gave you more than loyalty, what about you? As Daniel webster said, "It's a small [game] sir, but there are those who love it." What will you do for those of us who loved it enough to have stuck with it all this way?' There you go --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(been reading some stuff in aeria forum) EE also going in decline? So DoMO is the best after all... too bad the devs don't care. Would gladly start playing, but with last update dating back to September 2010...
Why are there two versions of that new game, one for usa and one for eu?

I got no idea, but the EU one will definatly be more lag-free XD
EE is still living but it isnt as populated as it was at the start, the new server is an attempt to remedy this

[off topic] Every new MMO has a few months of huge success then the mmo hoppers go to a different game, but as EE had more success then most of the new mmo's, it had to open 3 servers. After almost an year there was 1 empty("newest"), one bit less empty(second) and one still pretty full(first) (note all the servers started at about the same week). But as alot of people like to start in a new server rather then an old they saw an opportunity to merge the old (and give some more competition to the players at cap) ones and open a new fresh one for those who want to start in a new and shiny server.
I personally dont think that EE would have had a merge now if they never had opened that 3rd server at the start, as they could have known it wouldnt stay that popular imo.
