It's more of the idea that a lot of MMOs don't really require you to play with other people most of the time. They are just single player games with optional team play
See I've been playing PSO2 and in this game you can invite people in your friends list as AI characters so you can play the whole game without really interacting with people, just add every random person to your friend list Though of course PSO2 is a lobby-based action-mmo, so it's not really saying much, but at least it's not buy to win, because there isn't anything to "win" as in there's no pvp at all
and Eden's idea of multiplayer was to force the party to hate each other because one person made a small mistake and the whole party dies
So let's ask: Is bad multiplayer the game's fault or the players fault?
EDIT: In DOMO we played together pretty well even though the whole game was just grinding for the sake of grinding

On the other hand, isn't multiplayer the thing why we play mmorpgs? It's way more fun to do dungeons with friends and complete them together than just finish a solo run.... Bad multiplayer is both the game's fault and the players fault. well i mean that if your are having fun with friends, it being bad gets a bit hidden because lets face it, most of the things are fun with friends, hence they being your friends.... you realize the game is shit but because you are with friends it gets tolerated. but if you leave that group of friends and you end up with both a shit game ans shit mechanics...well the illusion of it being fun breaks

this remind me of a term i made up, 'Single-Player-MMO' well of course its different and a bit OOT as SPMMO here means a single player game with a feel of MMORPG elements (long grinding run etc) some game to mention: FF XII, Dragon quest (snes one, forgot which one) however, this is actually a joke i made, not about something good/bad about the game, dont take it too seriously xD
