Sooooo... it was okay for a first attempt? xD And it IS like German word order - that helps a lot! Thanks guys =) Also - is verbeterd more like 'improved'? verbeterd archetypal meaning is to make something wrong turn into something good. so to correct a text or even somebody is also 'verbeteren' another dutch word that can be used instead of verbeteren is corrigeren. in short, use verbeteren when you made something wrong become good

I'm loving this text in one of my books! It's entitled 'Snel gedan'. Basically, these two people (male and female) are introduced at a party by another woman. The man lives in Leiden, and the woman says how pretty Leiden is. Then this happens: Ton: Zeg Anneke, vind je Leiden echt zo leuk? Anneke: Jazeker. Ton: Waarom kom je dan niet op bezoek? Anneke: Goed idee, meneer de Groot. Ton: Mijn naam is Ton. Wanneer kom je? Anneke: Vanavond na het feest? Gaan we? Lies: Hier ben ik... Ton een Anneke: Dag! SCANDALOUS! (Mijn Nederlands is langzaam verbeterend! )

I believe it's "snel gedaan" Also, it's "Mijn Nederlands is langzaam aan het verbeteren". I know, you literally translated it from slowly improving, but we don't say it like that.

Okay, dank je! =) It can be tricky without a proper tutor, some things translate really well and follow a similar order to English or German, and some don't!
