Hi Ya’ll!
This is my first ever guide, so forgive my writing style…which is pretty much stream of consciousness. I have a 2.1 in English but…clearly they were giving degrees away last year: P
This guide will be the class I got to level 66 the first time around in Gametribe Domo…DANCER!
Dancer, alongside Doctor and Musician is in the “Support” proficiency bracket. This means that they can share skills with a minor MP and skill cool down alteration.
Equipment
In order to use their skills, Dancer’s must equip Fan’s. These are quite balanced weapons when compared to the weapons available to other classes, they possess both Physical and Magical Attack Values although in all honesty…these are quite low in comparison to the other weapons in the game. It also offers a HP boost, not as much as Boxing Gloves, but it’s there all the same! Magic Accuracy for hitting at least some targets when AoEing and Attack Speed which is nice….but you don’t normal attack if you constantly AOE. Dancewear is used as Armour, and is a cross between Clothing and Robes, if you want to do as much damage as possible as a Dancer…it is better to forget Dancewear and use Light Armour instead. (No armour offers Magic Attack so if you want to be a Magic Attack Dancer…use anything except Heavy Armour)
I may as well mention that if you Gold a Fan, the enemies Physical and Magical skills do less damage to you.
Role
Ok now I have talked about Equipment I might as well talk about the Dancer’s role in Domo!
Dancer can:
AOE, Debuff, Single Target, Support.
It has both physical and magical AoE’s. Debuffs which help both Physical and Magical Attackers…(although these are weighted to helping Casters) An amazing list of fast cooling Single Target Attacks and some nice utility/support in the form of some Skill’s added effects.
In a bit more depth.
Dancer has three physical based AOE attacks, two debuff/leech AoE’s and two magic based AoE attacks. So you might be thinking…it is an AOE class! (I mean …I even mention the fact it can AOE in the equipment section.)
However, Dancer also has a really nice section of Single Target Attacks with a really short cool down, it has 5 Physical Single Target, and 2 Magical Single Target. (The majority of these skills can go past Skill Level 10)
Yet, to top all of this off, Dancer also has THE best debuffs in the game, and a HP regen/MP regen skill that can be cast upon others. I will go more in depth about each skill in a while…if your still reading.
Stats
So now, looking at all the Roles you will realize that Dancer is probably the most Hybrid of all Classes in Domo (even without Subbing.) My advice to all new Dancer’s is to specialize and choose one of these options:
Single Target Skill Spammer, Single Target Attack Speed, Physical AOE, Magical AOE, or Debuffer with Support and Utility.
I have personally tried all of the ones in italics at various level brackets and in the end game Raids.
In regards to Stat Points, there are 4 stats that are useful to a Dancer.
Str/Pow – Increases all your physical attacks*, including auto attacks.
Wis – Increases Maximum MP, physical attacks, magic attack* and magic defence.
Agi – Increases physical attack, evasion and magical evasion.
Dex- Increases physical attack, accuracy, magic attack, magic accuracy and critical hit rate.
(*) Means that this stat increases that value by the highest amount for this Job.
I don’t really want to list possible builds as most of them are listed on the Wikia. I won’t mention Dex at all, if you have a Muse you don’t need Dex. If you can Onyx…you also do not need Dex. I find it a waste of stat points now, and I won’t be putting it on any of my jobs.
I levelled myself to Babel with a 28 Dex, Pure Agi build…focusing on all of Fan Dancing Skills. I then respecced to a 2 Wis, 1 Agi build for debuffs and Different Dances…which I despised.
I then respecced again to a 2 Agi, 1 Wis build (because Wis gives a nice balance between both Physical and Magical)…I then took all single target Fan Dancing skills, and all of the Different Dancing Debuffs, and subbed some stuff …(to be described later.)
I found this necessary back then, as I didn’t have equip Light Armour, and I refused to Equip a Shield because I loved evasion….I couldn’t exactly dish out mega AOE damage in the frontlines…(speaking about why I had to respec from pure Agi. It’s possible that even a 2 Agi 1 Pow build would fare better.) That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy playing though! I do advise all builds to have 2 Agi at least….Dancer is really nice with the 103 AGI cool downs and cast times!
In Suba I plan to go 2 Agi, 1 Wis using all of Fan Dancing Again (and maybe getting Mating Dance) until 103 Agi, then going 2 Str/Pow, 1 Wis for the final levels…why? Umm...I don’t really know.
Skills
This is kind of my favourite bit, because I actually know what I am talking about …because I filled the Dancer Wikia page for these as I levelled…
Fan Dancing
Ferocious Fandango
This is an AOE skill based on your Physical Attack, it also provides a debuff to the enemy which decreases their magic defence…for a really short amount of time. If you are in a Solo AOE build you can use this skill before every Flaming Foxtrot/River Rhumba to get the most bang for your buck. If you are in an AOE group, try and use this before the other AOE classes can use their skills….as the majority of all AOE’s in DOMO are magical based.
Fancy Ferocious Fandango
This is an upgraded version of the prior skill, it has quite a lengthy cast time…so if you’re getting hurt by a lot of monsters, and it may not be the best move to use. It is based on physical attack and does quite nice damage, it does have a long cool down, so try and use it to finish off the monsters or if you know you’re not going to get hurt so much.
Flying Swallow and Flying Eagle Fandango
Both are based on your Physical Attack and both do really nice single target damage for hardly any MP cost…they can be used to pull as they have a range a bit bigger than normal attack range. They both have a moderate cool down but if you’re using other single target attacks you really won’t notice it. I maxed Eagle, but I am sure that in the long run…Swallow would perhaps do more…as it can get to level 15.
Fatiguing Fan
This is an AOE debuff and leech skill, it decreases the attack of all enemies in the target circle and increases your attack (by 100 at cap) and attack speed (by 1). It stacks with no Attack Buffs and it’s debuff is cancelled on the enemy after your next skill…..it doesn’t matter what skill, the debuff is cancelled! If you are solo AOEing …max this skill, if single target…just get it to 5.
Fleecing Fan
I don’t like this as much as Fatiguing, it’s very similar in that it leeches defence, and gives you “recovery” according to the Wikia, I can’t remember if it buffs your HP healed or is like a mini standing Regen….it’s probably the latter, and it’s probably why Fans have that little HP bonus. This would make a good combo with Bestial Boogie if you want it, but like it’s sister skill….it doesn’t stack with Defence Buffs. It is also cancelled after the next skill does damage, so it is great to start a fight with…and then to use one of the AOE Fandango’s on (as it’s only –DEF not –MDEF) but it needs to be reapplied constantly!
Fang Fandango
I love this skill. It is a leeching single target skill which does physical damage and leeches a moderate amount of HP. This amount is increased by your Wis, it has a really low cool down and MP cost and does some nice damage in all honesty. This also helps in the AOE builds to keep your health up.
Phantom Fang Fandango
An MP leeching version of Fang…enemies don’t really have MP as far as I’m aware, so it merely generates a fixed amount after doing damage to the enemy. It can be increased via Musician Passive Soul Music, the amount generated is quite a lot to be honest…I often make sure to use it after Inner Magic but …you can spam it with 103 AGI anyway. With this skill and an MP regen you defiantly will never run out of MP.
Extractor Fan
This has a really low cool down, and in PVP removes other player’s equipment. In PVE it reduces enmity instead or aggro…if that’s what you prefer to say. It does really low damage, but it’s cool down means that it adds up, the MP cost is also very low. I don’t really like this skill, and I get it to 5 for Salsa. In PVP however, it is one of the best skills purely for that equipment removing component.
Sandstorm Salsa
My favourite skill in the whole game, does moderate Physical AoE damage, and kind of stealth’s the whole group including pets…but not Meru/Molly and Sara/Game Destroyer. Everyone’s enmity/aggro is reduced as well and you can only be hit by AOE attacks while hidden. The buff doesn’t last very long but it is great for PVP…for running away and debuffing/combing with extractor. I have noticed that while you’re hidden that it occasionally bugs the EXP obtained by the enemy as some of the damage you do to the enemy isn’t counted while shrouded.
Different Dances
Flaming Foxtrot/River Rhumba
Fire and Water based Magical AOES, cool down increases as you level it, but it’s always pretty small. Animation also changes a little at skill level 11 and they do a lot more damage. If anything because it’s easier to reach the Damage Cap on Magic based skills…it will seem like these skills do more damage than Ferocious for a long time also considering the amount of debuffs effecting MDEF. (Comparing 3 STR, to 3 Wis)
Joan’s Jive and Stream Spirit Shuffle
Never tested I’m afraid. Fire and Water are not exactly amazing elements for Single Target Skills….*thinks of Den and Babel*.
Soothing Shimmy, Hypnotic Hoedown, Enchanting Cha Cha and Trance Dance
These all stack with each other, but not other Job’s debuffs. Except Trance Dance which does stack with other classes –MDEF buffs I “think”. If so I’m sure that option to drop Cha-Cha if you are with a full Magic Group and opting to use Trance and let’s say …Soup…would result in an increase in damage. Because these debuffs are amazing…level 6 onwards require a Fan.
Mating Dance and Bestial Boogie
Are not effected by Agi, and their MP cost scales to your MP pool.
I have heard that these are THE best MP/HP regens but I am really not sure….I think Bestial would probably be amazing for MA…but they already have their own Regen. Mating Dance is probably good for Doctors but they already have their own MP Regen as well…
These skills are probably better to provide support for classes that don’t have their own Regen’s or people who are not subbing them. Speak to your group….and find out who is doing what, but don’t waste skill points if you don’t want to.
Dancing Skills
Equip Fan
Great for Doctors and Muses who have time to debuff before anything else. Cool down may be too lengthy on other jobs along with the mana cost which is quite high if you are cycling all 4 debuffs around and around. Fan might be amazing on Blade Master/Swordsman due to its mega Str/Pow growth…but you prolly deffo need to get Fan Mastery as well…in fact I would love to try it one day
Equip Dancewear
Get this if you’re a melee class, that isn’t a tank for Dragons Den, or for matching with Clothing for the best innate Attack Speed. Else die, at your waste of skill points on my favourite class. <3
Fan Mastery
Mentioned this in the Equip Fan entry, otherwise its shit…even if I heard that people in Asian version level every class with Fan…Dancer isn’t that OP.
Flirting Glances
Get this if you get an Equip Skill, you might as well get 2 skills in one slot…than just one. That’s my motto! I don’t really like these %skills…and think they should be 0 Skill points really…as a reward for levelling but…there not...
Subs or …Why hasn’t this guide ended yet…PLEASE IM ACTUALLY DYING TYPING ALL THIS SHIT NOW.
Blademaster/Swordsman/OP SHIT
Nothing in Bestial Lines…because you need to have a Saber.
Martyr Arts is a fine line tbf, if you have AGI the cool down penalty is not noticeable. Don’t forget some of them wont stack with your AOE leeching debuffs, Concentration is beautiful to hit those targets with your AOE’s though, and seeing as you have crappy DEF anyway…all these –DEF skills aren’t really hindering you…as EVA is your stat…LUCK IS YOUR STAT AND YOU’LL DIE ANYWAY.
Equip Light Armour is good for Physical Dancers, and like my earlier motto, if you get this…MAX TIGER AND DRAGON SLAYING…even if you never auto attack…just do it.
Doctor
First Aid is great, and very speedy with AGI. Regeneration stacks with Fleecing Fan. Inner Magic has no penalty at all on Dancer. Detox and Purify need a Syringe…and you won’t need Detox if you have …. (See Witch Doctor)
Croakus…Hmm if you have Mating Dance you can optionally get a lot of skills here. Seeing as Fleecing/Fatiguing ruin every DEF and ATK buff….get this skill set if you’re a Different Dancer using the elemental skills….Yin Frog is one of the best MATK buffs, Prolong and Mega Magic is nice. Frog’s Leg Soup heals for loads…but it uses consumables.
I don’t actually frown upon Equip Syringe for Dancer even if its 15 Points your Doctor could be using…to be honest Dancer makes an excellent Doctor due to being in the same proficiency bracket
Medkit Mastery can burn…it only effects Physical Attack…if your attacking with a Syringe…you are very very bad.
Hand of Healing MAY effect Fang Fandango…which may or may not be delicious depending on how much yours already heals.
Notice my eyes are now hurting and I’m not even trying to make my sentences coherent.
Fencer
The whole of the first section is fine, you are not in the same proficiency bracket but the fact that the elemental buffs stay on you after you equip the weapon is kind of nice. This is made even better with the fact that Fencer is also a Hybrid job…meaning it doesn’t matter your stat build. All of the Single Target elemental attacks also have disabling effects…which can complement your debuffing skills. You could also get the AOE’s as well to add further elements to your own arsenal.
I have not actually levelled Targeted Attacks (I will in Suba) but they seem like the accuracy debuffs would work great with Dancer being an Evasion based Job anyway. The 4 buffs are also nice …but then again…if you have Fatiguing/Fleecing…then they won’t stack (DAMN YOU FATIGUING AND FLEECING)
You need Equip Sword for everything this Class has to offer, and if you’re a Magical Dancer you can skip Sword Mastery…otherwise…you’re going to have to take it as well.
Lightning Flash is great for an Attack Speed Dancer as well (at cap…it’s a really late bloomer skill…but it’s the best passive based on %)
Hunter
Nothing in Archery.
Everything in Hunter’s Instincts can be used by Dancer. Well I wouldn’t get Appease or Go for the Throat but everything else is great……until you realize only ready for Action effects Magical Dancers.
Do not get Equip Bow or the Mastery and think long and hard about Sharpened Arrow…it effects every physical skill you have (lots!) and can really rack up the damage on your short cool down skills (FEROCIOUS FEROCIOUS)
Mercenary
Provoke and mock is fine if you want to Evasion Tank. Better Blocker is also acceptable if you got Equip Shield. Other than that, pick up Equip Shield and waste points on Bronze Sinew and GET OUT OF THERE. (Equip HA reduces your Magical Attack…so it’s more durable for Physical AoE but soooo not useful for Magical) (But 2x 15sp skills….that’s a whole class GONE.)
Musician
Hmm, you can get everything in Muse if you really wanted to, and just Muse on Dancer, they are practically the same class but inversions of each other. Drop Musical Instrument Mastery though…yet again it does not decrease the non-existent MATK penalty.
Shaman and Wizard
I suppose it’s viable…if you want a different MP regen to Inner/Mating and if you want a Wand as a Magical Dancer for the extra MATK.
Robes are crappy for Physical Attackers, Elemental Defence Buffs are Nice if all you can do is debuff….you might as well take Finding Enlightenment if you are doing Magical Damage…but I don’t really like these classes for Dancer…even if they have the 2nd highest proficiency compared to Doc/Muse!!
Thief
Control Breathing and Rhythm are great!
Premonition is also nice, but Fighting Foresight will not stack with Fleecing. Sneak Attacks except Shadow Advance do not need a weapon. Equip Clothes is nice to maximize your Attack Speed through a mix of Clothing and Dancewear…if you get it…get Floating Walk.
Witch Doctor
I love this job, as a sub, and as a main. Bug skills do not seem to have a proficiency and if they do…it’s really menial, (I assume Shaman, Wizard and Witch Doctor are in the same skill brackets …but bugs seem to be excluded)
Agony Bug is great for an attack speed Dancer. And Explosive is one of the reasons I have Wis in my build …so it can do amazing damage…in fact WD is my main sub on my Single Target Dancer that is no longer a Dancer…Dancer. Bloodthirsty is great for the Magical Dancer, and Soul Eater even though it’s damage is fixed still hits for pretty nice damage. Sanctuary Scarab is great if you have leftover points.
In the Blood Curse Poison Line…Venom and Strike appeal to the Magical and Physical Dancer respectively. Blood Boil is a nice Buff for all Dancers and stacks with anything and it is a poison…not a Buff (this is why if you take this set…you don’t need Detox) Martial Hex is great for Attack Speeders, although it reduces the healing over time from Regeneration, Bestial Boogie and Fleecing Fan. Withered Earth is also useful for both Single Target and AoE situations as it is a static damage increase (for both Magical and Physical Users)
Take Use Poison Insect if you are using…ANY of the Poisoning Line or Withered Earth (anything that uses consumables basically)
And this is my exception….do not take Poison Immunity even with the Equip. Witch Doc has SO many good skills that Immunity is even more of a waste than the other passives. DON’T DO IT …WD IS OP.
ANYWAY IM FINALLY DONE, IT STARTED OFF GREAT AND GOT REALLY BORING IN FACT IMMA COMMIT SEWIE, DON’T EVEN KNOW WHY I MADE THIS GUIDE SEEING AS IMMA PLAY MARTIAL ARTIST BUT…OH WELL.
(I’ll try 2 AGI, 1 WIS Fan Dancing Dancer with Equip Shield and Light Armour, subbed with Witch Doctor and Blade master…..)
TLDR; COMMITING SEWIE COS IM BORED.
I always hated people who wrote shit guides...and now I can hate myself *eats birthday cake like Bruce Bogtrotter*
This is my first ever guide, so forgive my writing style…which is pretty much stream of consciousness. I have a 2.1 in English but…clearly they were giving degrees away last year: P
