Ah okay! I'll make a note of that, thanks! =) The website I'm using is great, it helps me with colloquialisms and the like, and things that Dutch people tend to do or not do - like apparently you don't really greet someone with 'how are you?' unless you know them well? Plus I can ask all of you guys about this stuff, it's perfect =D

yeah greeting is just a normal "hallo", or "goede morgen/middag/avond" and if you really want to know the answer of someone you know well you ask afterwards "hoe gaat het met jou?"

Okay, so I've started work on my application today. I can already apply for February 2014, and I might as well so I'll know if I've got a place or not sooner rather than later. Apparently they take about six weeks to decide! And if I don't get in... I'll try Amsterdam! Or somewhere...

Does anyone who has gone through the Dutch university system have any advice for me regarding applications?

if dutch unis are anything like belgian ones, just applying is actually enough to get accepted, as logn as you pay, they consider you a student.

Yeah, the most important part for the Dutch is "as long as you pay"

If you got he requirements to start that master then your in, cause i didnt see it was a special master that you got to be invited in to start. For some studies you get in by like lottery (medicine and a few others) but your save with archaeology.

All I saw was that you needed a certain GPA, which is equivalent to a low 2:1 and I have mid 2:1, so I'm fine grades wise =) I guess if I'm applying really early I have a better chance too cos it looks like first come, first served.

I will! A sentence I had to translate today was 'Heeft de boer een leeuwe in de tuin?' o.o That is one weird sentence. Also dunno if it is a typo but it is a leeuw (hope if he has it is a stone one or else he should run >.> )
