Donna's is the saddest, even if Doomsday always makes me cry =( But as you say, Rose gets her Doctor and her family.
Also one of them is Nine/Rose - I wasn't looking at the cover properly! Luckily it's also the one I picked up to read first, so now I can read them in order =P It's Rose's first trip to an alien planet.

I wonder if they are planning something special foe 2014.
There are still some questions unanswered. Who/what made the tardis explode(The pandorica opens/the big bang). The fall of the eleventh. The biggest question ever : Doctor who ?
So will series 2014 be the end of matt smith as the doctor. I believe that 'The fall of the eleventh" means his real death. Like David Tennants Doctor already said regeneration is like dying. You die and another person takes over.

Honestly a female doctor would be very interesting. Acourding to the Doctor in "The doctor's wife" timelords can change gender when regenerating.
Talking about one of the best eps of the reboot i read Neil Gaiman is writing an eps again for the 2013 part

We still need a ginger doctor, he wants to be ginger and hasn't been yet!

well since i am up to date with the reboot i will soon start with the older series.
I decided to start with the 4th doctor. Although i will slightly cheat since the first dvd's i will get is the last storyline of the third doctor and the first of the fourth doctor. Since "planet of the spiders" ends with the regeneration of 3rd into 4th i am just curious to see it. Also what is funny is that Sarah Jane is the companion of the doctor around that time.
Probably in 1 or 2 weeks

something different but still related.
Due to me talking about it some friends of mine are also started to watch the reboot of doctor who. When he called yesterday i was saying i was watching torchwood(and then explaining what it was). Then he asked if it was any good.
Now you have to remember his wife is a bit weird. She didn't allow him to watch "Witch hunter Robin" because it contained the name (robin) of a girl she disliked(I had probably the same look on my face as the one you have now when i heard that). The subject visual novels are out (her husband is also not allowed to play them) because it might contain sex, even though i play non ero visual novels(though i do not think she really understood those exist as well).
So now i have to think of a reason they will not watch torchwood since i think that eps 2 will not sit very well with her. >.>

Maybe the reason should be that he should be able to do what he wants, and his wife sounds like a control freak... o.o Someone needs to grow a backbone! Does he not get annoyed by that?

well it is more or less a marriage of convenience. She gets something out of it, he gets something out of it.
So whether he gets annoyed or not he just takes it.

Back to getting ontopic ... and going way back into the series.
I watched "Planet of the spiders" today. The last storyline of Jon Pertwee, made and broadcast in 1974 (that is 4 years before i was born). So the special effects are really terrible (even looks a bit cheap for that time) but I do not care.
First thing the pacing is so much slower then series of today. It will probably take 2 or 3 storylines to get used to that kind of pacing. I have to say seeing fake/plastic looking spiders being moved a bit with wires(or something else) hearing a distorted voice-over making those spiders more or less praising their "god" is both funny and slightly unsettling.
In other words I really like it(I mean i watched all 6 eps of that storyline one after another(although those eps are 25 minutes each).
So i will order some of the older series from now on.
Also my mom walked in when i was watching she was watching a bit and was like "I think that is the doctor who I remember".

So I've been rewatching S5 (clears things up too).
Last night I watched Vincent and the Doctor and The Lodger. In The Lodger, if you look closely, there's a Van Gogh (self portrait) postcard on Craig's fridge! =)

Okay, so I've been kind of looking to Classic Doctor Who.
What happened to Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter? I know she stayed on Earth after the Daleks invaded, but why does he never visit her again? Why does he lose contact with the only other Timelord(lady) still alive, and more importantly a member of his family? Or does the Time War happen AFTER this?
And I'm just adding this video, cos it makes me laugh every time:

well the end of tennat's doctor it is suggested he visited ALL of his old friends/companions before regenerating, so of screen he could have visited more then we saw.
This is just speculation though

I just wonder why she's sort of forgotten. If she's still alive, then he's NOT the only Timelord, but he does often talk about having no family. Maybe she did die, off screen...?
